Who can use the SelectRent service?
SelectRent is available to the legal owners or managers of residential properties. Once an account has been established, the owner may sign up appropriate personnel such as onsite property managers and leasing professionals.

Who can benefit from using SelectRent?
Any owner or manager of residential property, regardless of size. We have custom programs designed to provide the most thorough background investigation at the best possible price.

Is there any cost involved in joining your service?
No, there is no set-up or monthly access fees. Our company is completely transaction based, so you are only charged for the services you use.

Why is it better for me to order a package?
Our experience has shown us that there are certain services you want to utilize based on your type and size of property. As a result, we are able to bundle many of our services and pass the savings on to you in the form of reduced pricing.

I'm a small owner. Why is it necessary for me to run a background search?
Small property owners are the most vulnerable to receiving unqualified applications. Many prospective renters intent on committing fraud assume that a small owner doesn't have the resources available to catch a negative background.

I have a very unique property / portfolio, is SelectRent able to accommodate my needs?
We have a wide variety of custom programs designed to fit the needs of all types and sizes of residential property owners. In addition, SelectRent has several exclusive features and a full-time programming staff that assist in making leasing decisions easier and more efficient.

Are your services confidential?
We take significant measures to protect the rights of individuals as well as our customers. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any personally identifiable information that is shared with us. The information that you provide to us is only used to better understand our visitor's use of our services and to support transactions conducted on our site.

Do I need any kind of special software?
No, SelectRent is a completely web-based application so no software is typically required to use our service as long as you have internet access and a browser. If you do not have internet access, you can also process applications by facsimile.

Why should I request a search of county-based criminal records as opposed to a search of the statewide criminal record repository?
The majority of state database repositories are reliant upon the efficiency of the individual counties that are reporting information to them. The information can often be displaced by several months. Our experience has been that the information is less complete than the actual county court records.

Who is responsible for inaccurate or incomplete information on a report?
Due to the fact that we are reliant on third party information we cannot be held responsible or liable for inaccuracies that may be reported to us. In the event of a discrepancy we will work with you and the applicant to resolve any inaccuracies that may exist.

What if I need help in placing an order?
Our customer care team is service driven and ready to answer and solve any problem you may have. We can be reached at (952) 545-3953 or (888) 389-4023 for questions.

What type of turnaround can I expect?
Pertinent information is available to you in less than 60 seconds. Although the time may vary based on how in depth of a report has been requested, most reports are issued within 2-3 business days.

Are you able to speak with applicants that may be from a foreign country?
We are staffed with individuals who can speak the following languages: Czech, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Laos, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

Does the applicant receive a copy of their report?
The applicant will receive a copy of the report as required by the Federal Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) upon written or faxed request within 60 days. This allows them to review the report for accuracy.
